“We needed more than just professional expertise and tangible results. We needed an invested partner. Caplan delivered the depth of service and results that clients seek but rarely get. Looking back over 25 years of professional experience and numerous consulting contracts, this was simply the best experience I’ve had with a public relations agency. Thank you Caplan!”

The Team
Our public affairs team possesses the news judgment and tenacity needed to navigate major press and influence key constituencies. We canvass pivotal states to place drive time radio tours and public radio. Clients praise our capacity to access TV on the national stage and design focused satellite media tours to reach audiences at the grassroots.
ARIC CAPLAN, President
As a seasoned public affairs strategist and avid news junkie, Aric Caplan has made a career of understanding key audiences and renovating major market radio newsrooms and programming departments to reach them.
Twenty years ago, Mr. Caplan launched his profession as executive producer of the #1 rated morning show in Pittsburgh at historic KDKA-AM, which was the world’s first commercially licensed radio station. Next, as program director of WJNO-AM in West Palm Beach, FL, he overhauled the air product of the leading talk radio station in South Florida. Years after developing public relations ventures for Ruder Finn, he founded Caplan Communications in 2004 and continues refining a legislative advocacy PR practice that unites clients with their target audiences.
Mr. Caplan’s leadership has lead to winning outcomes in the public interest and among major environmental causes. Likewise, the agency’s public affairs practice has reached constituents and Capitol Hill with precision.
In 2006, O'Dwyer's PR Report honored Caplan with the publication’s first “O’Dwyer’s Award for Public Communications Excellence” in the environmental/public affairs category for orchestrating a proactive campaign that effectively prevented the Environmental Protection Agency from relaxing safeguards that prohibited the dumping of largely untreated sewage into America’s rivers, streams and lakes. Annually, this award recognizes PR campaigns based on transparency, accountability and a high level of creativity to increase public understanding of an issue.
Our public policy clients call for earned media that resonate with radio listeners. We rely on Arbitron for their precision and accuracy in identifying the value of those audiences.
